25 weeks!

I can't believe I only have 15 weeks left at the most. Things are going good. Here is a new 25w belly shot:

Also, one other pic:

These are letters that I made to hang in Bella's room. Am I crafty or what? :)

My next appointment is one week from today. Several things will be happening at this appointmnet. For one thing I will get another u/s, I will also have to do my one hour glucose test, so say lots of prayers that I pass with flying colors. I think my nurse also said I will be getting my Rhogam shot or at least I am being tested to see if I need another one. This time I am planning on talking to my ob about delivery. Since I am on blood thinners I am interested to see how this will all play out. From what I have read, my medicine will be switched around 35ish weeks to a shorter acting medicine that can also be easily reversed. Apparently if you have Lovenox in your system and you are in labor, you are not allowed to get an epidural and we don't want that happening!!

Bella is kicking like a wild woman and her kicks are getting harder by the day. I have noticed the past two days when she is doing her thing my belly will put on quite a show bouncing all around. So weird!

I will update next week after my appointment. Have a good week!

Things to not do when you are pregnant (and on blood thinners).....

(I should have taken a pic before it was all pretty and stitched up..it was deeeep and nasty!)

So yesterday around 3 my doorbell rings and this is what the UPS man brought me:

My sweet, sweet friend Christi sent me this as an early baby shower gift because she was also pregnant and was worried she may not be able to drive in from MS to be at my shower. Let me just say, I was EXCITED! We had both been eyeing this beauty for a while now. She had bought one for herself about a month ago and has gone on and on about how wonderful it is. It has a ton of different settings, plays my Ipod and has lots of different nature sounds, womb sounds and songs that are pre-loaded onto it. Actually, it’s probably only exciting if you are pregnant. Anyway, I drag it down my hallway and rip into the box only to discover that it’s being held down by some of those hard plastic zip-ties. I go get a knife out of the kitchen and cut through one of the ties..wam, right onto my finger somehow. I am on blood thinners and immediately started gushing blood. I knew it had gone deep, but could never tell how deep because I couldn’t get it to stop bleeding. I ended up going to the ER because I couldn't get it to stop and I figured I needed stitches. I was right.

Now, this is the said swing that caused all this excitement:

I wish they made one big enough for me to sleep in. I promise this picture does not give justice to its heavenliness. Bella is going to be one lucky girl.

Thanks so much Christi...and CONGRATS to you! Christi had her beautiful baby girl today around 11:30am. Happy Birthday Kelcie!!! Auntie Jennifer can't wait to meet you.

Happy Birthday Calvin!!

Today is the love of my life's birthday! 38 years old. This will be his best year yet, he finally gets to be a daddy. I know he is going to be the best one ever.

Last night we had some family over for his birthday dinner. Today we are going out to the deer lease so that he can shoot his new rifle he got for his birthday. The best present he says he got though, was that he finally got to feel his little girl kick this morning.

I love you Calvin!!

22 weeks and counting!

We had our monthly OB appointment today. All was good. Bella is measuring a few days ahead. Today the dr. checked her heart, brain function and took all kinds of measurements. She also checked for all the bones in the face to make sure that there is no cleft palate. Everything looked perfect. Here are a couple of pics from today. The first one is of her face, it's on the upper left of the picture, facing toward the camera (kinda scary looking!). The second one is of her little foot. Aren't those the cutest toes ever?? :)

Here is a new belly pic from 22 weeks.

Today when we got home from our appointment we had a box at the door from our Aunt Sherry and Uncle Rip in Nebraska. They sent Bella some goodies.
Not much else to report. Calvin's been super busy working on the house. We have new wood flooring down in the hallway and our new bedroom. He has repainted our bedroom and put up new trim. Next project is the nursery. I'm so excited to get started on that.

Hope everyone is doing good!

Halfway there...and other random stuff!

20 weeks! I can’t believe we made it! Here’s what’s going on with the baby this week:

Week 20: Cantaloupe
Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, speaking of the diaper situation... baby's genitals are now fully formed!

Some belly pics too:
18 weeks

20 weeks Not too much of a a difference.

We FINALLY got our bedding in, turns out, our stupid neighbor DID have it. And she held on to it until we got in our replacement (which was also delivered to her) and she brought both of them over at the same time. Nice. We still haven’t decided what color we are going to paint the nursery…something light.

Yesterday was my first baby girl’s 7th birthday. Maggie Mae, I love her so much!!

This past Saturday I went to a baby shower in College Station for one of my best friends, Shannon. She is having a baby boy and due in a month.

So that’s about it. Not a lot exciting going on. Calvin has been re-doing what will be our bedroom. He put down wood flooring, new white trim and finished painting the room yesterday. He has some molding to finish up with and then we can finally get moved into the room and start working on the hallway (doing the same thing) and Bella’s room.

Hope everyone is doing good!

Lovenox and other things

I have a blood clotting disorder, two actually. One is more serious than the other. They cause my blood to clot more than it should. For the one disorder (the easy one), I just have to take extra folic acid and all is fine. For the other one (the mean one)…things are a little more complicated. If I wasn’t pregnant, I would just add in a daily baby aspirin and watch for signs of clots. Since I am pregnant though, besides the folic acid and baby aspirin I also have the privilege of adding another drug into my cocktail…Lovenox. Of course, this isn’t something simple to take…like a pill. It’s an injection. I. Hate. Them! First of all, picking one out of the box is a little like Russian Roulette. You never know what kind of needle you are going to get. Sometimes they are super sharp and just slide right in with no pain at all. Other times I jab them in, realizing too late that I might just as well have stabbed a butter knife into my stomach as that needle. It drives me crazy how dull some of them are, ugh!! Not to mention the fact that the medicine normally burns like a mother. I have to keep taking these things until 2 months after I have little Bella.

On another note, I’m totally pissed at UPS. I was supposed to get my bedding yesterday. I was so excited to see it! UPS normally is here by 4, so when it wasn’t here by 6 I checked the tracking on it. It said it was delivered at 5:45 and left at my front door. I checked my front door. I checked my back door. Hell, I even walked to the neighbors to make sure it wasn’t left there. No package. I called UPS and was told I would have to have the sender file a tracer on it. Of course they couldn’t be nice and just call the driver to see where he had left it. So, I call Pottery Barn and they are now sending out a new set. My valance is on back order now, so who knows when I will get that. I will be sure to post a pic when I get it in, because it is super cute. It’s called Daisy Garden and is mostly pink, but has other colors in it also. I am thinking of doing an “outdoor” type theme in the room with flowers, birds, birdhouses, etc.

Ok, enough for tonight. Happy Hump Day!!
