8 Months!

How did this creep up on us? I hate how fast the time is going! Although B is getting to be more and more fun, she is definitely growing up way too fast for me. I saw her next to a newborn the other day and it seemed like just yesterday she was a tiny infant. :(

She is doing so many things. Crawling like a champ. Standing up and cruising along the coffee table, headboard, whatever. She says mama, dada, bye bye. She blows bubbles and smacks her lips when she eats. She laughs all the time and thinks I am the funniest person ever! She is eating like a champ. She loves eating whatever I am eating also. She loves ice just like her mommy. She also gets sick way too often lately. She is just getting over an ear infection. She had just gotten over another cold the week before that! ugh!! Hopefully we are on an uphill swing now and all this sickness is behind us. Come on summer!!

We are headed to College Station on Saturday to go to my friend Shannon's little boy's birthday party. He is 1. He is also the cutest thing ever and B's future husband. Hopefully going to be able to meet up with my friends Brian and Emily before the party.

Work!

My broker called to see if I could do a job out of town for him. I had previously told him I wouldn't travel, but since work is hard to come by these days, and the job wasn't TOO far, I took it. Luckily he doesn't mind if I only work a few days out of town and the rest at home...and even luckier is that my mom doesn't mind going with me so I am able to bring Bella!

We headed out on Monday and drove to Madisonville and got checked into the hotel, then I went to work for a few hours.

One of the things I was looking forward to about the location of this job was that it is close to BCS! I made plans with some friends and we headed out that afternoon to go meet them for dinner. Bella hasn't got to meet Shannon, Nicholas or Head yet so she was super excited...not as excited as I was though!

I miss my girls so much. I really wish we could move back to that area, but with Calvin's job...there is just no way. Anyway, we made plans to definitely start getting together more often and stop letting life get in the way.

I am headed back to Madisonville next week. Not sure if my mom and B will tag along or if I will go by myself.

Happy New Year (a little late!)

New Years day we loaded up and headed to Galveston for the day.

We took the "scenic" route on the way there and rode the ferry. I haven't been that way in forever. Did you know they search your car now before you get in the ferry? Anyway...here is a pic of us on the way over. We stayed in the car because it was coooold!

(forgot to mention that B decided to knock her lip into the coffee table on New Years Eve, so it looks yuk!)

After we got into Galveston we rode down the seawall, had some lunch at Landry's and then went to a giftshop for B some souvinir's. We did go down on the beach for some pics before we headed home.

Just wanted to make a quick note so I don't forget the date..

Tonight Bella started waving and saying "bye-bye". My baby is growing up too fast.

She also says "mama" and is crawling all over the place.

Christmas In Pictures! (finally)

I am tired!

First off, no pics because I left my camera at my mom's.

We had a really good (but long!) Christmas! It started on the 23rd with Christmas with my family. My mom cooked a yummy dinner and we all had fun hanging out and opening gifts. Bella and I got the best gift ever...Calvin quit smoking! He also bought me a Kitchen Aid mixer, so yay for me! lol Bella got a new carseat and some clothes and toys from my mom. Christmas Eve we hung out at my mom's again...played board games, drank hot buttered rums and ate too much again. Christmas Day we had dinner at my Aunt Janna's. Bella got a new wagon and some toys from Santa. She LOVES her wagon! The next day I got some girl time with my friend Donna. We headed out to the Woodlands to do some shopping and just hang out. The next day we went to my Aunt Melly's for lunch and FINALLY came home! We were all beat!

All of us have a cold and I am ready for us to be well again, especially Bella. She doesn't feel bad but has a runny nose and a cough. Dr. Roesler gave her some decongestant with a cough medicine in it.

I am hoping to spend this week at home and get my house somewhat organized...it is a total wreck! ugh! Not for sure what New Years plans we will have yet. Most likely going to my brother's annual party, but I really wouldn't mind just staying home.

We are still alive!!

We have been gone for a while..and we have been B-U-S-Y! And not all in a good way!

First things first...
Went to Austin for Thanksgiving and had a good trip. Bella did pretty well on the long drive. Slept for most of it but the last hour and then she wasn't the happiest camper, but we made it alive! Had a good time. She got tons of fun presents and got to spend lots of time with my Dad and Debbie! They are both crazy over her. We had a yummy Turkey Day dinner and got lots of relaxing in. We did get up and go out on Black Friday to do some shopping. We even got our pic in the paper...crappy pic of course! I did get a copy of it for B's baby book though. After some shopping we met up with Jana and Jenna for sushi. Had a great time catching up.

We've been busy trying to get ready for Christmas, spending time at the deer lease, etc. Done some shopping here and there but I am still not done and it's driving me crazy. I never, ever wait this long to finish up with Christmas shopping!

Monday, November 30, Bella had her 6 month check up! All was good and she got her last vaccinations until she is 12 months! She weighed 15lb 10oz and was 26in. long.



Friday, December 4th, Bella woke up right when Calvin was headed out to work. I got up and made her a bottle and put her in bed with me to feed and. I noticed she was burning up with fever. Checked it and it was over 103. I called Calvin and let him know we were going to the dr first thing. He turned around and came back home to drive us. The weather was awful and it was going to be snowing/sleeting later in the day. By the time we got to the drs. office her fever had mostly broken. She had a red throat and was congested. She tested negative for flu and strep, thank goodness. We got sent hom with a decongestant and to give her tylenol/motrin for the fever. She felt fine though. Over the weekend her fever would only come at night and the congestion was going away so we thought she was on the mend. We even did some Christmas shopping on Sunday.

By Tuesday the fever came back higher and she was super fussy. She was also not wanting to take her bottle. I was told to bring her back in the dr. The red throat was gone, no more congestion, so he decided to check her urine for a UTI. Yep..she had one. He said with her age and since she wasn't eating good he recommended that she spend a night or two in the hospital and get some IV fluids and antibiotics. He also wanted to grow a culture on her urine and do and u/s on her kidneys. The culture came back and along with her bloodwork, they decided that it had already become a kidney infection. Poor Bella. I felt so bad for her because they had a hard time with her IV's and blood draws. She got so bruised up from them! She was such a trooper though and stayed in a good mood. We stayed from Tuesday-Friday in the hospital. They had originally told us we would be there until Sunday, but she responded so well that we got an early release. We go back tomorrow for a dye test on her kidneys to make sure there aren't any problems that would cause recurrent infections. We are keeping our fingers crossed that this one was just bad luck! We go back on Friday for our follow-up.

Where the heck am I going to get Christmas shopping squeezed in??

This weekend we also have our first Christmas party. Hopefully Bella will continue to feel fine and I will have some cute pictures with Mr. & Mrs. Claus and their elf!
