We are still alive!!

We have been gone for a while..and we have been B-U-S-Y! And not all in a good way!

First things first...
Went to Austin for Thanksgiving and had a good trip. Bella did pretty well on the long drive. Slept for most of it but the last hour and then she wasn't the happiest camper, but we made it alive! Had a good time. She got tons of fun presents and got to spend lots of time with my Dad and Debbie! They are both crazy over her. We had a yummy Turkey Day dinner and got lots of relaxing in. We did get up and go out on Black Friday to do some shopping. We even got our pic in the paper...crappy pic of course! I did get a copy of it for B's baby book though. After some shopping we met up with Jana and Jenna for sushi. Had a great time catching up.

We've been busy trying to get ready for Christmas, spending time at the deer lease, etc. Done some shopping here and there but I am still not done and it's driving me crazy. I never, ever wait this long to finish up with Christmas shopping!

Monday, November 30, Bella had her 6 month check up! All was good and she got her last vaccinations until she is 12 months! She weighed 15lb 10oz and was 26in. long.

Friday, December 4th, Bella woke up right when Calvin was headed out to work. I got up and made her a bottle and put her in bed with me to feed and. I noticed she was burning up with fever. Checked it and it was over 103. I called Calvin and let him know we were going to the dr first thing. He turned around and came back home to drive us. The weather was awful and it was going to be snowing/sleeting later in the day. By the time we got to the drs. office her fever had mostly broken. She had a red throat and was congested. She tested negative for flu and strep, thank goodness. We got sent hom with a decongestant and to give her tylenol/motrin for the fever. She felt fine though. Over the weekend her fever would only come at night and the congestion was going away so we thought she was on the mend. We even did some Christmas shopping on Sunday.

By Tuesday the fever came back higher and she was super fussy. She was also not wanting to take her bottle. I was told to bring her back in the dr. The red throat was gone, no more congestion, so he decided to check her urine for a UTI. Yep..she had one. He said with her age and since she wasn't eating good he recommended that she spend a night or two in the hospital and get some IV fluids and antibiotics. He also wanted to grow a culture on her urine and do and u/s on her kidneys. The culture came back and along with her bloodwork, they decided that it had already become a kidney infection. Poor Bella. I felt so bad for her because they had a hard time with her IV's and blood draws. She got so bruised up from them! She was such a trooper though and stayed in a good mood. We stayed from Tuesday-Friday in the hospital. They had originally told us we would be there until Sunday, but she responded so well that we got an early release. We go back tomorrow for a dye test on her kidneys to make sure there aren't any problems that would cause recurrent infections. We are keeping our fingers crossed that this one was just bad luck! We go back on Friday for our follow-up.

Where the heck am I going to get Christmas shopping squeezed in??

Anyway...here are some pics of our sweet baby while we were locked up!

Headed home...finally!

This weekend we also have our first Christmas party. Hopefully Bella will continue to feel fine and I will have some cute pictures with Mr. & Mrs. Claus and their elf!

We are especially thankful this year...

for our sweet Bella.

She will turn 6 months this week, the time has flown by. We go in next Monday for her 6 month check up and I am anxious to see how much she weighs. She is still such a little girl but growing up way too fast for me!

Bella had her first cold a couple of weeks ago. She never ran fever or anything though. Mostly just a stuffy nose. It also totally screwed with her sleeping habits, ugh! We are still working on getting that back to normal. She is finally feeling much better though.

She is starting to sit up some. She can sit for a few seconds unassisted, but then falls over. She can tripod though, for a long time. I guess it won't be long now.

She is also trying to crawl I think. She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. Our house will never be the same once she gets mobile.

Bella's two cousins spent the night last night...Hunter and Tori. Tori turned 16 today and unfortunately got strep throat. Fingers crossed we don't catch it too!

Today we went to see Santa. I will have to scan in her pic soon. She actually smiled for it, I was worried Santa would scare the bejeezus out of her! (He WAS a little scary looking.)

Wednesday we are leaving for Austin to spend Thanksgiving with my dad. We also celebrate our Christmas with him at the same time. Joanna and I also love to get up early on Black Friday and head out. I am also going to try to hook up with Jana and Jenna at some point while we are there. I haven't seen Jana since my baby shower so I am looking forward to catching up with her.

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! We will post some pics from our trip when we get back!

No new pics...

Whew! We had a busy weekend!

Friday Calvin got off work early so he could head to the deer lease. He has been about to pee his pants all week in anticipation of opening weekend. Me? Not as excited :) Bella went to stay the night with my mom. Joanna came over after she got off work and we went to pick up Marcus after school and headed to Beaumont. We ran some errands and then went to see Paranormal Activity. It wasn't as scary as we had heard. It was creepy in a few parts, but definitely nothing to make you leave the theater in the middle of the movie. Afterwards we went to have some sushi/hibachi and then had Starbucks for dessert.

Saturday morning Marcus and I got up early and headed to the deer lease for breakfast. The hunters all cam eout of the woods and my aunt had gotten a huge buck. (I am pretty sure all the guys were equally jealous.) We had a big opening day bbq and then the hunters headed back to the woods. All the girls hung out and gossiped.

Sunday my mom, Bella, Marcus, his friend and I headed to the mall to do a little shopping. I can't believe Christmas is so close! Oh..Calvin did end up getting a doe that morning. Sunday night we had dinner at the lease, backstrap of course. Lots of people ended up getting deer this weekend, so we had a little feast.

Monday morning I got up and went to the dr. and B stayed with my mom. She had started getting a little cold so I didn't want to have to get her out. Calvin brought her home and I met them there. Man, it was nice to finally be home!

In other news, I have started reading the Twilight series. ugh! Why did I start this? I read the first book in two late night sessions. I got the next one this weekend and finally started it last night. I heard it wasn't as good as the first though. So far, it's not that bad. also, I have a girl's trip planned that I am excited about. Me and probably about 15 or so girls are headed to Canton the first weekend in December. We have a house rented and I am looking forward to some girl time.

So, that's about it. Hope everyone is good!

Halloween '09

Finally getting around to posting B's halloween pics. She was the cutest goldfish ever!

We did a little early trick-or-treating at my mom's and a couple aunt's houses and then went to a halloween party at my cousin's house.

Not a whole lot going on besides work. Deer season starts this weekend so I will be a widow for a while.

Here are a couple more pics of my big blue-eyed girl!

5 Months Old!

I can't believe how fast the time is going! 5 months ago at about this time I was in the hospital, strapped to monitors, having consistent, not too uncomfortable, contractions. It was a boring morning...but what a great evening!

Bella is growing up so fast. This past weekend she has really started rolling. She has been flipping over for a while now, but she got really good over the weekend. If she is on the floor, we cannot keep her still.

We spent the past weekend at my mom's. Calvin stayed in the woods pretty much all weekend and we hung out with lots of family. Bella's Grandpa Wayne even came for a visit.

Bella also got some new things. She has been getting really bored with sitting in her bouncer and swing or playing on her playmat. I ended up getting her the exersaucer and she loves it!

Bella also got a highchair. I have been feeding her in her bouncer, but she is getting tired of not being able to sit up. Her grandpa bought her this highchair this weekend and it's a big hit with her. She loves being in the kitchen with me while I am cooking or cleaning.

I think that Bella is teething. We havent seen any teeth yet, but she is chewing on everything and sometimes get super fussy and the only way she will calm down is if she has something to chew on. They have these feeders you can buy that look like a big pacifier but the "nipple" part is a mesh bag that you can put things in and freeze it. I put some banana in hers and omg, she loves it. Unfortunately it is SUPER messy. But like I said, she loves it.

I love this time of year. It's finally starting to cool off and there are so many things going on. Plus, the holidays are just around the corner! Friday I am hoping to get to meet up with my friend Shannon in the Woodlands to spend the day. She is my friend from College Station and she hasn't been able to meet B yet and I haven't seen her little boy, Nicholas, since he was around 2 months old (he's 9 months now!).This weekend is Bella's first halloween so be looking for some cute pictures! We have a party on Saturday night, not sure if I will be bringing B with us or not. Might be fun to just to be able to hang out with friends and not have to worry about getting my sweet baby home to bed. Sunday we have a baby shower to go to. My cousin, Tabitha, is about to have a baby girl. At my shower she told me she was 5w pregnant, so I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Next weekend is when regular hunting season starts. I will be a hunting widow for a few months I am sure! I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving. We always go to Austin to my dad's house. We also celebrate Christmas with them at this time because there is always too much going on to get back there again for Christmas. Speaking of, I've started doing a little Christmas shopping. I can't believe it's already that time of year. I love it!!

Hope everyone is doing good!

Just Checkin' In...

Haven't posted in a little while, so I wanted to check in and post some pics.

We have been busy with life. Hunting season has started, so Calvin has been busy with that. He's also been glued to the tv on Sunday and Monday nights watching football...driving me nuts!

Bella is good. She really is an easy baby. Almost never fusses, etc. She is a little laughing machine lately and I love it!

Last weekend we went to the Burnett Family reunion and took some pics of B while we were there. We also took one of all of us, but I haven't gotten a copy of it yet. My nephew and I made a cake to take, so I am posting a pic of it because it's pretty cute. Oh..also, Bella took pictures last week. They were old-tyme type pictures and I can't wait to get the proofs. But, I do have to wait til the 27th. She looked super cute so I hope they turn out good.

Hope everyone is doing well...
And now for a couple of pics.

Happy Friday!

I can't believe it's October already..time is flying! B wore one of her Halloween outfits to celebrate the occasion. She looked super cute as usual!

We went to Beaumont with Joanna today and did some shopping. This evening Bella and I went up to the church to a funeral visitation for a highschool friend, Rob. Super sad :( Afterwards we met Calvin up at my highschool for the Homecoming game. B did NOT like it! I assume it was too loud..or else she wasn't feeling great..regardless,she had a meltdown. We ended up leaving at halftime. It was fun to see some old friends though, just wish I could have visted more.

Tomorrow bow hunting season starts. Calvin is heading out to the lease before daylight. Bella and I are going later. Bella's grandpa Wayne is buying her some new clothes and meeting us out there around lunch. I'm hoping tomorrow will be a better day for B.

Happy Friday!!
