My Girl!

This weekend I spent the entire weekend thoroughly enjoying my girl.

Saturday Calvin went to the deer lease early and B and I stayed behind. We played, watched Yo Gabba Gabba, ate grapes and took a nap. It was AWESOME (as DJ Lance would say)!!




Sunday I cooked...all day. And Calvin watched football...all day. And B followed me around. I made a big breakfast. For lunch I made homemade pizza dough and then made a big supreme pizza. Afterwards I baked pecan pie muffins. For dinner I made bbq and my parents and Tori joined us. After that, I made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. I had a couple of fall recipes I was wanting to try out...so I did and then I sent it all home with my mom so Calvin and I wouldn't eat it!

Last night after everyone left, I bathed Bella. After she got dressed she wanted Daddy to hold her for a bit and then wanted down. She proceeded to come sit by me on the couch and fell asleep by herself, immediately. I should have known something was up. When she started fussing in her sleep I picked her up and I could tell she had fever. It was about 100. I gave her some Tylenol and went and crawled in bed with her. She woke up about 3 with more fever so she got Motrin and went back to sleep. Her dad stayed home with her today and so far she has been fine. Hopefully it was just a quick bug that will not be back. I don't like my baby girl being sick.

So I enrolled Bella is a Mother's Day Out program at one of the church's in town. Today was her first day. She goes from 9-2 so I am waiting to hear what her teacher's say when my mom goes to pick her up. I took her this morning and she did really well. She whined a little at first and when the other kids starting getting there she seemed to get more comfortable. I went to go sign paperwork and I heard her start crying but they gave her the paci and when I went back to check on her she was sitting in a teacher's lap and looking at a book. I snuck off and didn't even get to take a good pic of her. I did take this one on our way in, which is a sucky pic but I at least wanted something of her first day.

Moody Gardens Trip!

We left out early Friday morning (9/10) and headed to Galveston. Miss Priss slept the entire way there, which made for a good ride for us! After we got checked in we rested in the room for a bit. We ordered some snacks from room service and then changed into our swimsuits and headed to the pool.

Bella LOVES the water....loves it. She is not scared of it one bit either, which is scary for me. She just squeals and laughs the entire time. Did I mention the pool had a swim-up bar? Well, it did. Enough said. We stayed out there a few hours and then headed back to the room for showers and to get ready for dinner.

Our hotel was super nice and had a few restaurants in it so we decided just to eat there. We may or may not have also stopped in the lounge on the way to dinner for a little drinkie-drink. It was awesome!

We headed back up to the room and we all crashed!

We got up way too early the next morning and headed down for breakfast and then strolled around outside until it was time for B's morning nap. After she woke up from that we headed over the the Aquarium.

Bella loved seeing all of the sealife..and all of the kids. We also took a ride on the Paddleboat. It went around the bay for about an hour. Bella found some friends on the boat to play with.

After that we headed back to the room for another nap and then back to the pool for some more fun in the water!

We decided to finally leave the hotel and had dinner at Fish Tails.

The next morning I did not want to leave. It was so nice to be able to just hang out with my little family and not worry about housework, etc. We all had such a good time together and can't wait to do it again!

I Officially Suck at Blogging!

Life just gets in the way sometimes :)

Today is our anniversary...4 years. Seems alot longer though. We are headed to Moody Gardens tomorrow to spend the weekend. I can't wait for our little get away.

Little B is growing up into a sweet, sassy little girl. She has been off the bottle for 2 weeks. She pretty much gave it up on her own. Such a big girl! She's about to get 2 more top teeth. She is a climber too. I swear, we can barely keep this girls feet on the ground.

I am getting really bad at this blogging thing!

We are all doing good, but not a whole lot going on.

I am just busy with work and taking care of B and running errands and just being boring.

Calvin is getting ready for deer season, ugh! He's been working on a new stand this week and started feeding the deer last week. We went to a Hunting Extravaganza (woohoooo) a couple weekends ago and he got a game camera. Hopefully he will have some nice traffic around his stand.

Bella is busy growing up and being sassy. She has finally gotten 2 more teeth, 4 total. She got her top left front on 8/10 and then her right front one came in yesterday, 9/18. Lately, she is loving the dogs, especially Maggie, who is the least lovable of all. Her Maw started babysitting again and so they have been busy running the roads. We are working on using eating utinsils, but she would much rather just use her hands. Some words she is saying now is: momma, dada, thank you, what's that, cracker (all food is cracker), up (because she has heard Tori yell shut-up to the dogs so much that now when she hears them bark she yells "up"), right there, gross....and some more that I am forgetting. She is so much fun right now. And now for some pics:

I've been out of school HOW long??

So, this past weekend we went to my highschool reunion. I went to such a small school that we have a reunion with several classes attending...and we still didn't have a huge turnout. BUT...we had a blast!!

We headed to Houston Saturday morning after dropping Bella off at my mom's. We met up with another couple for some lunch before checking into our hotel. We met a few other of the couples down in the hotel bar and then headed over to Sam Houston Racepark. One of the guys I went to school with had some connections there and we had the main suite reserved. Everything was super nice and we had so much fun catching up, meeting spouses, etc. Can't wait to see everyone again soon!






Oh..and by the way, it's been 19 years! Yikes!!

Yes, we're still here!

It's been a while since I have posted so I thought I would check in real quick!

We have been busy little busy at Casa Skinner. Seems like we never have a chance to just relax, which is really what we need.

Bella is getting big, big, big! She is so much fun and she is such a happy girl. She is walking, running, talking, laughing and also getting into a little bit of trouble. She cannot stay out of the dog food, the dog water or the toiler. Blech! All gross stuff! Hopefully she will get out of this phase soon!
